Character Biography Part 1

Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) is the central character of Family Guy. He and his family live in Quahog, Rhode Island. Speaking with a thick New England accent, he operates as if he is smarter than everyone else, but in reality he's clueless. He spends his free time drinking at the Drunken Clam with his buddies, Quagmire, Cleveland and Joe. Peter has worked for various companies, including the Pawtucket Patriot Brewery and the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory (no doubt modeled after Hasbro, which is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island). Also, Peter has a long history of fighting with a large, yellow chicken.

Lois Griffin (Alex Borstein, Mad TV) is Peter's wife. She comes from the wealthy Pewterschmidt family and married Peter against their wishes. Lois is an accomplished piano player and singer. She's considered to be very attractive, which is proven by Quagmire's not-so-subtle advances toward her, as well as her short-lived career as a model ("Model Misbehavior"). She may be more sophisticated than Peter, but we have seen occasionally that she shares his low                    brow humor and lustfulness.

Stewie Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) may be a baby, but he is as diabolical as the worst villain. He is highly intelligent, but he's still very attached to his teddy bear, Rupert. He has schemed many times to destroy Lois, but has failed at every attempt. In early seasons, it was insinuated that Stewie is homosexual. In recent seasons, the writers have become more obvious with his sexual leanings, though the humor is usually couched in Stewie's complete ignorance of his own comments.

Brian (Seth MacFarlane) is the Griffin family's dog. He seems to be the wisest and most sensible of all the characters, regardless of the fact that his still urinates on the carpet in Lois' presence. Yes, that's right, he is in love with Lois. Brian has had a girlfriend, Jillian, and enjoys the occasional martini. He and Stewie are usually pitted against each other, or drawn together, by extreme circumstances, such as a road trip to find Brian's mother (the former) or recruitment into the military (the latter). Brian can often be found singing duets with Stewie

Meg Griffin (Mila Kunis, That 70s Show) is the only daughter of Peter and Lois. She is frequently the butt of the family's jokes. She is considered to be unattractive and a loser. She and Peter bonded when his driver's license was revoked and she chauffered him around town. She was given a chance to shine as a star in "Don't Make Me Over." Also, she has a crush on Luke Perry.

Chris Griffin is Peter and Lois' eldest son. He's not terribly bright, but he is a talented artist ("The Son Also Draws") and rock singer ("Saving Private Brian"). He admires his father and follows blindly into many of Peter's misadventures. Also, he fears the crazy monkey in his closet.

Quagmire has only one thing on his mind and it isn't ice fishing. He stalks every woman he comes across, paying special attention to Lois, his next-door neighbor. Quagmire successfully wooed Cleveland's wife in "The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire." He even made a move on Meg when she turned 18 in "Meg and Quagmire." Since the series debuted we've learned that Quagmire has father issues and he's an airline pilot.

A Brief History on The Family Guy

Family Guy originates back to two shorts of around ten minutes each made by Seth MacFarlane during the mid-1990s, featuring two main characters: Larry, a fat, old, balding idiot man, and Steve the dog, a talking dog who was much smarter than most people. The second of these shorts was broadcast on Cartoon Network in 1997. Fortunately the executives at Fox saw both shorts, and MacFarlane was offered the opportunity to develop a show based on them, which evolved into Family Guy.

The first episode of Family Guy was aired in the United States on January 31, 1999, after Super Bowl XXXIII. The show premiered as a regular series in April and ran for six more episodes until the season finale in the middle of May. The first season contained seven episodes and introduced viewers to the show's main characters. That was only the beginning! It was canceled on February 14, 2002 and brought back in May 1, 2005.

Family Guy Cast

It is undoubtable that Seth MacFarlane was the inspirator of Family Guy and the leader persona of the show. He voices Peter, Brian and Stewie. He cooperated with Mila Kunis (voices Megan Griffin), Seth Green (voices Chris Griffin), Alex Borstein (voices Lois Griffin) and Patrick Warburton to complete his concept.

Family Guy Characters

The Griffins are a model family but each member is distinct, complex, and yet a noticeable individual. Peter Griffin, an Irish American, is a master in the art of embarrassing, but is not productive enough. He is the head of the family. His dog, Brian, is his best friend. Brian is not a common dog. He talks, he is smarter than more of the people and he prefers his martini dry. His wife, Lois Griffin is a daughter of a rich family, and she used to have many boyfriends before she marry Peter. She teaches piano, she is a modern housekeeper and she loves her children. Their children are completely distinct., Meg Griffin, a 17 year old teenager with low self esteem and the dream of being popular, Chris Griffin, a 13 year old kind hearted boy, who idolizes his father, and then 1 year old Stewie Griffin, a maniac infant who tries to dominate the world. Not the most common children that a family could grow. Besides the 6 Griffin family members, there are other characters, such as sexually charged Quagmire, deli owner Cleveland Brown, paraplegic police officer Joe Swanson, crazy Adam West., etc. The characters of Family Guy reside in Quahog, Rhode Island, a satirical version of a small Rhode Island town. Quahog also is a slang term for vagina.
